Mutoscope Variations |
||
|
The 'extra' cards in the All American Girls series are 2 versions of the same title: 'Welcome Marines' with hat and 'Welcome Marines' without hat. The version with the hat is clearly the most difficult to obtain of this set. There are also six cards which have different sized typeface used among the All American Girls. Since the versions with the larger typeface are rarer that the small type cards, it is my belief that the large type variations were from the run of 'Welcome Marines' with the hat. |

Among the Hot'Cha Girls series, 'My Diver's License' is considered the rarest of the Mutoscopes. One theory is the card was just considered too risque for the time and was pulled from production, replaced by the card 'Golden Hours', which is actually more explicit than 'My Diver's License'. In either case, one replaced the other and both command a premium price. Yet again, subtle variations crept into the 2nd printing run. In total, 18 differences have been documented. |
Artist Pin-Up Variations!?! |

Two sharp eyed collectors have kindly notified me about undocumented variations among at least three Artist Pin-Up Girls. I'll be looking through my collection for others. Please feel free to with any new discoveries! Special thanks to Dick and Brownie for the scans. |
