Tijuana Bibles were popular from roughly the 1920s through the 1940s. They were small in size and usually only eight pages in length, leading to another term for them: An 8-pager. They were extremely graphic and frequently featured the fantasy sex life of both real life celebrities and famous cartoon characters. This is a long and honored tradition of parody from the ribald woodcuts mocking the sexual habits of the Royal Family during revolutionary days to today's Internet photochops and animated GIF files.
