Larry Welz created Cherry in 1984. The series follows the X-rated misadventures of the title heroine. Similar to Kurtzman's Little Annie Fanny, the series features caricatures of famous personalities, a tradition following the Tijuana Bibles that preceeded the Underground Comix explosion of the 1960s. On the right is Cherry's version of Marilyn's famous pose.
