Hugo Gernsback launched Amazing Stories in 1926
and changed the course of science fiction. Although early issues
relied on well known authors such as H.G. Wells, Edgar Allan
Poe and Jules Verne, the wide range of immitators published
early works by Ray Bradbury (Weird Tales), Arthur Clarke
(Astounding Science Fiction) and Robert Heinlein (Also
in Astounding Science Fiction).
